Very drinkable and overall very good value for money. The young age is no problem here. It has a strong start, but it also scores well in terms of taste. Full review (in German): https://keinehalbendrinks.de/2020/01/28/ein-trio-caol-ila/

  4. Glenjasper scored this whisky 86 points Connoisseur

Smoky, average Caol-Ila whisky, where the alcohol notes unfortunately come out too much. The smell leaves hope, the taste is limited, the finish is very short.

A comparison to the Callisto VI and Callisto VII prohibits, because the Callisto V despite the lower price can not keep up rudimentary.

Slightly more storage time would certainly not have hurt the whisky.

    • Nose
      Lightly peat and sweet.
    • Taste
First peat. Then fruity and delicious and sweet. I taste a bottom layer of bourbon and white chocolate. The combination is remarkable. Nice, but not very fantastic; something too 'disjointed'.
    • Finish
      Peat and sweet
