    Colour: Pale Gold
Nose: neat: Peat smoke, sherry sweetness (it seems), salty, seaweed and barbecue. with water: Smoke is slightly less present with the sweetness and the barbecue notes coming more upfront. Water also takes away a slight alcohol edge that is felt when neat!
Taste: neat: Excellent peat smoke flavour, together with a sweet note (but less than on the nose) and some spicy notes. with water: much more spicy than neat, with more iodine and less sweetness. Some tar also appears on the trail-end.
Finish: medium-long with peat and the sherry-type sweetness lasting the most. with water: it's kind of strange but the finish is actually drier when water is added. Finish is again medium-long, with lots of iodine, spices, smoke and tar notes.
Comments: Loved this whisky, to my taste, it's brilliant. It has lots of depth, complexity of flavours all of which go hand-in-hand with the "standard" Laphroaig (islay) peatiness!
    MY SCORE: Highly Recommended +

First of all said one of the best 18s I own. This velvety delicate despite plenty of alcohol is very special. The sea air nose and the taste of salty, sweet, fruity to smoky. Everything is there. Fantastic. House whisky.

Very special is the combination of fresh sea breeze with nutty chocolate notes. Everything also makes a very set impression. With peaty maltiness, sweet candies and spicy but wonderfully subtle smoke.

Everything in the middle weight class but wonderfully creamy. With leathery smoke and always sweet with bitter notes, but not disturbing. Fruity and floral rather graßig with earthy ash. It still salty caramel with citrus notes. A poem.
    • Finish
      88 88
Very tender, soft and still long. Peppery with a metallic finish but not too bitter. Very special and always sweet.

A very full but gentle and smooth Laphroaig. Great mixture of smoke and some sweet and fruity tones.
    Very pleasant to drink.

Mild and gentle peat and smoke, fruity as well; citrus fruits. Some bonfire smoke, and chocolate comes in. Later on some shadows of eucalyptus as well, like Vicks.

As gentle as the nose already suggests; Full and smooth, bonfire smoke, sweet, caramel, honey and some vanilla. Also so fruits come in, peach and more oranges now.
    • Finish
      90 90
A slight pepper comes in now, but still very full-bodied and gentle. Some smoke still, ash. Again the fruits, peach and oranges. Tobacco too. Intense and long finish.
