Bunnahabhain 30 - 52.8% fully matured in Spanish Oak Sherry Cask
Nose: lemon and leather. Cararmel and brown sugar syrup. Medium/heavy oakiness.
Taste: viscous. Brown sugar, cinnamon, leather, oak and heat. Exceptionally well balanced.
Finish: long. Oak, leather, brown sugar.
Overall: spectacular. What you get from the taste and finish is exactly what you'd expect from the nose and is exactly what you would expect from something aged in Sherry for this long. Don't think that makes it boring it's just so well balanced that it's exactly what you would want it to be. My notes don't quite do it justice. Jim McEwan said this was one of his top 10 lifetime drams if that helps.
