Whisky Reviews for Speyside Region 1975 ALOS
5 users have left a review for this whisky and scored it an average of 90.40 points
- truly wonderful fruity whisky that loves oxygen and opens up more in the glass after a good 10 minutes. I honestly think the lower ratings are from those not patient with this one.
- On the same level as the greatest Speysiders from 73 - extreme fruitiness, sweetness and balance that I like very much - fantastic!
Tropical fruits galore, mango, pineapple and so on, sticky sweet, notes of overripe fruits, glue and solvent, spices, pepper - superb!
Very fruity, sweet, honey, all the tropical fruits again, fine oak wood, little vanilla, ginger, more spices - excellent!
Long, warm, sweet and fruity, more spicy, not drying
- Amazing nose. Complex with syrupy fruit concentrate, ginger and other spices and herbs.
- Outstanding nose that plays out the full age, very balanced in the mouth and a tasty finish.
Immediately after pouring fantastic! Wow what a nose. Sweet, fermenting fruits, tropical. Powerful, but no trace of alcohol. Like sticking your head into a drained but still dripping barrel, because that's where oak comes. With a little warmth then very light, delicate spices are added.
Gentle and round. The same flavors reappear as in the nose. Only he is a little fresher here with light Trabeubes and less fermented, but rather unripe fruit.
In the finish takes over the oak, the fruits retreat. Medium. Demands for more! Dangerous.
