  1. hs305 scored this whisky 84 points Connoisseur

[January, 2018] I had this dram during a FoSM club tasting.

This is a typical modern style sherried whisky without any characteristics to remember after it went down the throat. Easy drinkable, nothing else...
    • Nose
      84 84
The colour is yellow gold and the nose offers a modern sherry profile that is herbal-driven but not very impressive. This is an average modern style sherry nose without flaws and highlights.
    • Taste
      85 85
The taste is of an average modern sherry style without flaws and highlights, too. It is easy drinkable but I find nothing to remember if someone asks me about this dram.
    • Finish
      83 83
The initial mouthfeel is neither warming nor coating and shows no distracting moments either, simply non-existent. The finish is of medium length and turns a little bitter-drying towards the end (tannins). Water is not needed as it just flattens the dram.

  2. Portfolioman scored this whisky 91 points Expert Junior

quite excellent whisky from the sherry barrel, unmistakably a Miltonduff (quite similar to similar old bottlings from the Cask Strength series of G & M) - in view of the price, it is an "insider tip"
    • Nose
heavy, old sherry; Dried fruits (plums),
    • Taste
creamy-oily, sherry, prunes, warm-dark sweetness, end with light wood note (pencil shavings)
    • Finish
warming, sweet, slightly astringent, plums ring out

  3. Ostap scored this whisky 83 points Expert Senior

The aroma is quite intense, though too straightforward. Jerez dominates all stages.
    • Nose
      85 85
Very sherry, leather furniture, furniture store, extremely fragrant, intense aroma, raisins, grapes, vanilla, a mixture of spices, floral, sweet, slips through the roman style, mint, dusty bookcase, mushroom and meat theme, black currant, lacquer and pine. A little straightforward.
    • Taste
      82 82
Oak, spices, plum, dry sherry, varnish (stain), pine, very fresh.
    • Finish
      82 82
Continues the taste, dry, oak and spices, sherry, stain, pine, knits.

  4. RedBandit74 scored this whisky 87 points Expert Senior

    • Nose
      86 86
Sweetness, raisins, sherry, chocolate, vanilla, some bannans, rum
    • Taste
      87 87
Sweetness, sherry, honey, chocolate, creamy, mild, raisin, the alcohol is super integrated
    • Finish
      87 87
Sherry, sweetness, a little spice, raisin, caramel, fruity

  5. Ivynor scored this whisky 84 points Expert Senior

    • Nose
      85 85
Sweet, hazelnut, almond, baked cake, trace of chocolate. Quite a decrease because of the 43%
    • Taste
      85 85
Quite greedy, a little creamy. Very sherry, with chocolate. Mocha and spices. Sugar but not too much. More bitter aftertaste.
    • Finish
      83 83
Drier finish. On bitter cocoa, dry herbs, spices.

    Blind tasting
    • Nose
slight smokiness, some sherry, a bit of lemon, milk chocolate; rum?
    • Taste
      odd, spice, funky taste
    • Finish
medium; some heat and spices continue

  8. Dre73 scored this whisky 84 points Connoisseur

The nose is by far the best part of this whisky, actually thing get a little less attractive step by step. The high expectations in the nose are not met in body in finish.
Still a pretty enjoyable one though.
    • Nose
      86 86
Lovely sweet and fruity, friendly. Honey, some banana, vanilla. Then it gets a little 'darker', prunes, chocolate, more sherry notes, leather, spicy.
    • Taste
      84 84
Only a little pepper, raisins, honey, some licorice, prunes, some chocolate.
    • Finish
      82 82
Still some pepper, raisins, honey, prunes. Middle long, not as versatile anymore as the nose was.

  9. Sandman scored this whisky 84 points Connoisseur

Sherry, hint of sulfur, raisins, chocolate, orange, hazelnut, nutmeg, raspberry, cherries, coffee, dried fruit.

  10. Georges scored this whisky 80 points Connoisseur

    • Nose
Sweet, sherry, herbs, butterscotch, toffee, oranges, tobacco
    • Taste
Sweet, sherry, buttery, toffee, caramel, spicy (ginger)
    • Finish
Medium long, sweet, spicy, nutty, chocolate
