  1. LDB scored this whisky 85 points Connoisseur

A rather nice sipper from Campbeltown to enjoy without too much contemplation. This blended malt has a bit of everything, lemons, oil, some soot and funk. Feels nakedly natural as it were. Short finish. I would prefer the standard 10yo Springbank any time though.

Probably one of the best within all Douglas Laing regional blended whiskies.

emblematic of good spirits is the ability to immediately let you know of their presence in a singular fashion, rather than evoking a generic representation of this style or that region. The Gauldrons batch no.2 gets this objective & smashes it in delicious fashion.

Aroma: A scent of juicy apples, vanilla, and a pinch of honey, but I also find grassy. Well tuned, very fruity and especially pleasant. (85 pts)
Taste: In taste, juicy fruity, with green apples, vanilla, pears. It fits well with the scent. (85 pts)
    Points: 85
Summary: A shot number 5 at the Whiskey Festival in Radebeul 2019, specifically I had a batch number of 2. I would say nicely balanced whiskey, a well-chosen strength of alcohol, all very harmonious, as a bonus to my eye-pleasing bottle design.
