    Fruity, floral....Tullibardine is always something....well what.....the great unknown.....or...

Fruity and floral. Clearly something spicy...very pleasant.

The smell immediately transfers to the taste. Very delicious. Now the spicy comes out well. Little biters left and right. Very good.

Throat irritation. It lingers wonderfully....when inhaling and exhaling some crosses and ripe fruit. Almost smell like apple, pear...

Musty and wet cardboard notes dominate, with a pretty thin and flat body. Not the most pleasant whisky. It's interesting because of its older character though.

Fruity, but overripe, tending towards wet cardboard and musty. A bit of lamp oil. Pretty modest.
    • Taste
      77 77
Musty, wet cardboard. Some sour fruits, a bit creamy structure. Smooth. Somehow pretty thin and flat.
    • Finish
      78 78
Still smooth, creamy, a bit sour and fruity, but a bit musty as well. Pretty short.

Some whiskys can be left with a certain aftertaste in mind. This Tullibardine was no high flyer in its day, but in retrospect you can say that in the contemporary spectrum of "standard" whisky this Tullibardine is not inferior to modern Aberfeldy or the standard output of Speyside distilleries. The whisky smells wonderfully floral and on the palate it mixes with fruit and acidity. The finish is remarkably spicy for the 40 percent, showing that the 40 percent of yesteryear is more potent than today's 40 percent. An own character, come to think of it, you kind of miss these ugly ducklings a bit.

Its ok but nothing out the ordinay.
    • Nose
Pineapple, apple, bubble gum and some strange resinous notes that I can`t quite put a name to?
    • Taste
A bit flat and thin on white fruits, pear, apple, Turkish delight and a little pepper.
    • Finish
Approaching medium length with a malty sweet finish on fresh cream.

  12. Malt Hans scored this whisky 77 points Connoisseur

Fruity and malty aroma, pear, green apple, lime, banana and floral honey. Vanilla sweet and malty taste, pepper, ginger and cucumber. Medium long and malty end.

  13. Master Quill scored this whisky 64 points Expert Senior

Score for a bottle from around 1995

  14. Feusi scored this whisky 76 points Connoisseur

Many herbs as an aperitif, to start very well. Floral fragrances open the nose, a malty sweetness plays around with herbal notes of the tongue. Is not a sensation but otherwise quite OK.
