Good whisky, decently balanced. After adding a few drops of water, it feels sweeter and warming. However, I am missing something in it, maybe if I had not read the opinions and glorious comments before, it would have been more suited to my taste. I was expecting "fireworks", such big-city ones to welcome the New Year, and I felt that they were just two drenched firecrackers, which when they were about to glow in the sky at their peak, showing beauty and a kaleidoscope of colors, made pssss (they shot off) and went out.
    • Nose
strong peat, quite distinct citrus fruits, smoked
    • Taste
sweet seaweed mixed with salt sea water, a little vanilla, dark chocolate
    • Finish
medium, sweet, dark chocolate with a smoky coating

Peat and a slight smoky tone. A scent of citrus zest, mainly lemon, and a hint of vanilla.

Peat comes around again in the mouth. Furthermore, flavors of dirt, vanilla and black pepper. At the end I even taste butterscotch.

Quite long. I mainly taste black pepper and a slight aftertaste of vanilla. But after about 10 minutes I taste the dirt again.

Young, smoky, bourbon aged Islay whisky. Good quality. The great property of this whisky is that you can smell and taste the actual farm notes. At least the smells of a farm that I know. That makes this distinctive and gives it an extra dimension every time I smell and taste it.

Solid, slightly smoky Islay. The more you try it, the more new flavors you smell and taste, that is, it develops with air contact.

(relatively) light smoke (campfire character), has something of smoked ham (light and pleasant) and something earthy / mossy. Then a citrus freshness, but also sweet & light fruits as well as a vanilla note with honey and nuts.
    • Taste
      77 77
first gentle sweetness, then spicy sharpness of ginger. A little smoke goes over in smoked ham (but very light and subtle - does not stay as long and intense as, for example, a Bowmore 12). Some vanilla. Slightly tart, dark chocolate towards the finish. At the beginning a little citrus freshness. The longer you leave it on the tongue, the oilier it becomes; warming.

relatively short finish with some smoke. Sweet fruits and spices. Then he sounds out medium back and goes for me towards the old cigar box aroma ... (very interesting; I only noticed it at the third tasting). The thread in the palate remains surprisingly longer than initially thought.

pleasant dram, just as the other Machir Bay of previous years.

sweet peat with a nice citrus and meaty body.
