The refill sherry hogshead renders lots of nuances that, i.e. a first fill wouldn't. So there is a beautiful and matured balance between yellow and red fruits, the sherry, the wood and the medicinal peat.
Fantastic. I'd say probably the best sherry PC that I have tasted so far, as this one gives an idea how a longer matured PC can develop and it is rather the contrary to the biff bang boom PCs which offer two dimensions: power and sherry - I enjoy this too, but with 13 years here it starts to get really interesting in more dimensions than just two.
From a big bottle at the whisky club.
=> if it really is a bourbon hoggie (see dumdi_san): respect! and it would be particularly interesting to find out what was in the cask before... Whatever it was, it still reminds me much more of refill sherry than any refill bourbon I had before...
