- I often bring this out at tastings, simply because its the strangest and most complex whisky I've had. Not bad, just... odd. You get three different flavors coming at you at the same time. Funky. Sherry. Wood. This is a weird scotch. Not bad, just weird. Not at all what you expect from an old sherried Bunna.
- Idiosyncratic as hell, but maybe my in my Top Three.
If this isn't a 10 I don't know what is. Every whiff is a revelation. There's a LOT going on. Leather, phenol, fruit (dark & green apple candy, both).
Only a letdown because of the 12/10 nose. But honestly, it's fantastic. Water makes it a bit oilier and funkier, but opens up a whole nother level of flavors beneath the super-subtle smoke and oxidized winefruit.
Long, savory, mouthwatering finish.
