    Conclusion and pictures on: https://tomtrinkt.de
    • Nose
The first breaths above the rim of the glass meet my expectations. Dense camp fire smoke and fine smoked aromas are immediately present. Delicate pastry notes, caramel and many bright fruits follow. Unripe pears, apricots, a touch of honeydew melon and a light spiciness of oak wood expand the harmonious nose. A salty sea breeze settles like a thin veil over the fine aromas. The high-potency alcohol (58.3%) initially causes a slight cooling in the nose, but is quite well integrated. With a few drops of water, the Port Charlotte is much sweeter. The alcohol is increasingly in the background. A light association of roasted marshmallows can not be left out of my head after careful dilution.
    • Taste
Very oily, with almost buttery texture (especially with a few drops of water), the Port Charlotte floods my mouth with a wonderful intensity. On my tongue tip sets a pleasant tingling. In the meantime, countless of my taste buds are confronted with sweet and fruity smoke. In the front area, especially on the cheeks and tongue, an intense sweetness spreads before the camp fire smoke spreads with smoked aromas like a mighty veil. The bright fruits from the nose are back and are complemented with roasted malt and burnt marshmallows. Salty caramel sweets, vanilla crisps, light citrus aromas, mineral notes, a touch of wet forest soil after a hot summer storm and a fresh sea breeze follow. The taste of spicy oak wood remains pleasant in the background. The alcohol is very well integrated, with a few drops of water and a roughly estimated alcohol content of 54-55% I like the Port Charlotte currently best.
    • Finish
Long, sweet-smoky, fruity and slightly spicy. Sweet smoke and bright fruits (now drift easily into the tropical spectrum) are always dominant and let the malt slowly fade away. Salty caramel, mineral aromas and spicy oak notes linger harmoniously in the background.

    Tasting Notes by DramFool

Nose neat: Very sweet with butterscotch, Germolene, pencil sharpenings and a sooty finish.

Taste neat: Creamy and sweet with honey, tropical fruit and Bazooka Joes. The medicinal theme continues with Elastoplast, then ash.

Nose diluted: Germolene, Bazooka Joes, honey and waxed paper.

Taste diluted: Very sweet and medicinal. Honey and menthol linger on a smooth finish.
