    Glencairn glass
Solid cask strength sherry whisky, but not very lasting or exciting.
Tried it again today after a long time and I like it a lot better than it seems the first time I gave it 87 points. Likes its purity and that it's not over-finished.
    • Nose
      87 87
A simple sweet sherry board, complex for its age, no surprises but well done.
The percentages are well integrated, but already clearly perceptible without stinging too much. Minimal spiciness behind the sweetness.
The second time around, I don't really feel like it's Brett anymore. The sherry is still noticeable, but it strikes me as comparatively clean, slightly spicy, and not overly fat.
    • Taste

Already very strong despite the water, but not spritty. On the palate more spiciness and less sweetness than the nose. Remains a little bitter.

With 8 drops of water to 3cl really well balanced for the key data.
    • Finish
      87 87
Medium short and more sharp than the nose, but still within limits.

  3. Lu Cifer scored this whisky 87 points Connoisseur

elegant and aromatic with dry sherry, raisins and fine wood / oak notes, a hint of vanilla. Perfectly integrated alcohol.

Warm as soon as you start, slightly oily, sweet-tart, dried fruit aromas, sherry, delicate tart oak notes. Walnuts, touch spicy.

slightly tart with delicate oak notes, warming, a little sweet with sherry and dried fruits, lingering for a very long time, with a soft oak finish.

    Blind mystery tasting.
    • Nose
      90 90
hokey pokey, lemon, quite prickly, Russian fudge, quite a bit of caramel
    • Taste
      88 88
delicate, that hokey pokey carries on with buttery notes and some spirit
    • Finish
      87 87
just short of medium; it doesn't stick around as long as you would want; very clean continuation of creamy buttery notes
