Whisky Reviews for Bowmore 12-year-old

- The set is very nice but aging in bottle has brought some flavors "parasite" at the same time as a certain class. Pity.
The whole thing is old, not old, of the OBE, it is very melted. Old earthy peat, wet, rubber. Passion fruit in shambles. Citrus fruits too (clementines, mandarins). Some aromas probably due to the age that hinders a little (bitter almonds, old dust - quite difficult to describe).
Nice thick texture, covering. A little bit of peat is more marine: spray, seaweed, oyster shells. Always these fruits, clementine, oranges a little past. Mint. Bitterness.
Long and fruity, a little spicy on the end.
- A very nice standard OB Bowmore from the 1980's. better than most of the IB's from that era with their FWP-factor.
Sweaty. Discreet smoke and sweet fruit. Also sweet-sour farmy notes of horse stables. Quite complex.
Creamy. Lots of liquorice. Slightly peated. Spicy. Some melon and yellow apples.
Medium long. Very salty maritime influence of seaweed. Also hints of soap (this is 1980's Bowmore....).
