  1. Gloin scored this whisky 84 points Expert Senior

The smell is fruity and pleasant, a mixture of light sweet notes and a gentle acidity.
When tasting, I immediately think of a juicy green color, the sour impressions begin to dominate.
The finish is pleasant, but not very versatile.
Overall a good drinkable whisky without mistakes, but also without surprises.
The fresh barrels dominate, the sherry can only be found in the second sip
    • Nose
Apple, pear, grass, behind it sweet plums, vanilla, white wine vinegar, a hint of tangerine, a little spicy wood
    • Taste
Cool, noticeable onset, light tingling, delicate astringent, slightly sour, citrus, sour apple, apple juice and some tart orange, slightly bitter caramel and woody notes, creamy, a hint of anise, in the second sip then sweeter fruits, strawberries and a lot of banana
    • Finish
Caramel, light Nordic beer, tingling on the tongue, mellow apple, less sweet than in the taste, banana medium in length

This is a great 12 year old. Not too sweet, not too spicy, very nice to drink. Overall, very balanced. The palate gets what the nose promises. Great. The looks older ...

sweet, oily ... creamy, very light spicy ... white pepper, mint, grape nut chocolate, cherries and vanilla, no bitterness
    • Finish
      86 86
medium long, nutty, woody ... nice sherry barrel

    `Glenallachie 12/46%`
In the aroma of malt-candy profile, followed by caramel and floral motifs, perfumes, bananas and pineapples, tropical juice. Honey and sweet spices in the dominant taste, raisins and chocolate, a few coffee shades. The finish is medium length, hot and pepper, hazelnuts, bitterness and astringency of dark chocolate.

At the tasting there was a feeling that I had come up somehow better, or the fact is that there were other snifters, or just in comparison with the tarmac smoky Benromach, it seemed fresher, lollipop and brighter in taste. Against himself, he is not bad, but somehow already without special delights. Some sort of understatement remained.

    • Nose
Fresh. Yellow apples, summer meadow, a touch of straw. Behind it some hazelnut, caramel and vanilla. Dry branches.
    • Taste
Soft, slightly oily. Apples, pears, chopped almonds, some honey. A hint of white pepper. Milk chocolate, a hint of peach.

  6. Xaver did not rate this whisky Expert Senior

    • Nose
      Shiny gold

Smells first very fresh, fine and fruity.
Passion fruit, pear, green grapes and green banana. I feel very lively. Then it gets drier. Wood and some wood stain. Lavender soap, sour splashed must.
    • Taste
Woody, spicy start. Then comes a pleasant fruit sweetness. Paired with a little vanilla, plastic and shoe polish. Caramelized pear. Some men's chocolate and wine cream. Sweetener, a little peach and malt.
    • Finish
As if you're bumming a Bavarian Blockmart candy with some caramel.

  7. LukasJakubDrabek scored this whisky 84 points Expert Senior

Fruity and relatively sweet. Plenty of fruit dominated by banana. A solid and typical Speyside representative.
    • Nose
Very fruity with vanilla. Banana, marzipan, vanilla pudding.

After adding water: Greener, lemon balm (tea), pear purée.
    • Taste
The filling of the "Banana in chocolate" bar dominates. Overall sweet. Slightly ginger, banana, banana peel, vanilla wafers, white peach.

After adding water: Slightly bitter at first. Almost rum. Vanilla liqueur.
    • Finish
Slightly tannins, dried apricot, grapefruit juice.

After adding water: Mango, peach, white currant and cinnamon.

Good value for money, luckily with a bit virgin oak only.

Floral. Fruits, honey, citruses, malt, mint and spicy oak.
    • Taste
Citruses, oak, white pepper, vanilla, green apple, banana shake and honey.
    • Finish
      Medium length, fruity, spicy.
