  1. rottendon scored this whisky 85 points Connoisseur

Pleasant to drink, less to extensive Nosing, here he loses with time too strong. He is not complex, but faultless.

    Notes from a blind tasting.
    • Nose
      84 84
Campfire and barbeque right when pouring. After taking a breather, it offers a rich and full bouquet of hickory smoke, scorched honey, A1 steak sauce, and a smoldering, half-burned campfire. Hard coal and some olive wood also seem to be in the fire. Behind the smoke is still more, something grassy, cereal. After a long time, the barbeque notes have disappeared, a slightly sour basic profile is formed. Speyside Peat.
    • Taste
      85 85
In the mouth it is dark-sweet with also slightly sour hints. It starts extremely soft and then comes powerfully powerful. Hardly any bitterness. The mouthfeel is very oily.
    • Finish
      85 85
First, it warms for a long time before it then slowly merges into a drying fading.

  2. Don Cassi scored this whisky 83 points Expert Senior

Very herbaceous and spicy on the nose and somewhat sweet with associations of stock cubes, Maggi and sauerkraut ???? Despite the color, oak and fruit can hardly be made out. The high alcohol content is very well integrated and hardly stands out.

Still unusually "meaty" and hearty in the mouth. The oak becomes a little more present. In addition, it is relatively hot from the alcohol, it could be a little oily.

In the finish, further associations of Maggi / meat broth. Now add a little oak / dark chocolate. A very unusual combination.
    Length: 5/10

A malt that takes a lot of getting used to, which does not shine with classic virtues but is interesting in its own way.

    Grade: 2+
