Beautiful and nice sweet grain, which is getting better in time. Very enjoying.
    • Nose
      87 87
Sweet, vanilla, a little bit of glue remains, strong alcohol, some tropical fruits, vanilla cake.
    • Taste
      88 88
Smooth and full, light pepper, sweet, vanilla, some glue, fruit, peach.
    • Finish
      88 88
Now some more pepper, sweet, vanilla, a bit candy-like sweetness, pretty long. Some peach, and in the finish I get some 'Blokker' or 'Marskramer' experience, like scented candles and stuff like that.

Like many of us, Cameron is a big fan of grain. His offering comes from a credited refill sherry butt.

N: This is sweeter than the Caledonian we tried early in the day [blog]. With dried fruit icecream & sweet glue, the sherry gives a soft desirable fruity chewy influence.
T: Same again, sweet fruity glue, the sherry cask accountable for much of the profile.
    F: Sweet > sour.
C: Good & very tasty, the desirable cask influence saving it from being a very one-dimensional dram.

    Scores a C+

Light and sweet. Clear vanilla notes, despite sherry wood.
    • Taste
      90 90
Light, sweet, spicy, vanilla. Complex and lovely. Not overpowered by the delicious oak at all.
    • Finish
      88 88
      Sweet, medium to long.

N: vanilla bomb, vodka, copper, icing sugar, maple.
T: Mexican chocolate, oak, maple syrup, dry hay, spice, light strawberries
F: dry oak spice, green pepper, vanilla, soft, grainy.

Full disclosure; I’m not a fan of grain whisky. Too much vanilla, tinny, kind of one dimensional. In my opinion of course. This is better than most, but still falls into the same category. The sherry butt lifted it up a bit on the palate
