Whisky Reviews for Glen Keith 1991 SV

A pretty good malt from the bourbon barrel. But for me it should have a bit more yellow or exotic fruits. Although he does not seem alcoholic, but the alcohol is already felt in some ways.
    • Nose
Acacia honey. Some yellow fruits. Pear and yellow apple glazed in butter. In addition a lot of citrus. Go in the direction of candied lime and orange peel. Some wood dust.
    • Taste
In the mouth again the honey. The yellow fruits are now more restrained and the citrus fruits are now more present. A certain sharpness arises. Ginger. It tingles on the tongue. Something like lemon shower sticks.
    • Finish
The citrus and the sharpness remain something. In addition pear peel and some wax.

    • Nose
Lemons with salt, a trail of sand. Dry branches, tree bark, leaves. Then yellow apples and a touch of candle wax.
    • Taste
Sweet and spicy. Cornflakes, white pepper, baguette with light honey. Dried apricots, cashews. Dry earth.

In-store sample. Tasted alongside another 1991 glen Keith wb #98187

Another perfectly pleasant, but unremarkable (to me) whisky.

Spicy oak, straw, orange zest and peach, butterscotch, it’s quite hot, even after 26 years. It hints at wax, but it’s only a tease. Tastes much younger than 26 years

At $300 cad (almost €200) there are simply better choices. It’s crazy times out there...
