- Cooked fruits, orange, spices, toffee, very fruity, excellent
Orange, spices, some pepper, almond, cinnamon, walnut and some polish. Medium complexity and somewhat higher intensity.
Orange, grapefruit, cardboard, wet wood, almond walnut, TofFee. Sweet and creamy. Harmonious and distinctive aromas.
Citric, cardboard, pleasant. Finish a little more than medium.
- Tasted again a few years after opening - it developed and is much more fruity and drinkable - thus much higher rating than before - great old Springbank - fantastic!
Cooked oranges, beeswax, old books, dried apricots, jam, hints of toffee, brown sugar, spices, whiffs of cinnamon - very good!
Little punchy, oily, sirupy, good sweetness, very fruity, more cooked oranges, jam, little spicy, pepper, hints of ginger, very fine oak wood, more toffee, old books - great!
Medium long, warm, fruity, little zesty, little teaish notes but not drying
- Old classic scotch - very good!
Ripe bananas, walnuts, marzipan, old books, even a little grassy notes
Punchy, peppery, waxy, smooth, bitter almonds, subtle sweetness, little toffee, woody notes
Medium long, smooth
- Nutty sweetness in the nose, heavy oily and nutty on the palate, rather an unusual complexity of spicy notes. Powerful and even fresh, very interesting, wonderful to drink.
