There’s little confusion over this one. It’s a single malt from Glenfarclas.

    N: Consolidated nutty bung notes.
T: Rich and richer - dark rich. It doesn’t hang around however.
F: Dunnage barley, richly bourbon matured. Moves deep, dark and bitter with dusty fungal. Lingers and lingers,…
C: With thanks to Rabbi Danny for the token and recommending I get to try this.

Lovely old Farclas but too much oak dominates the palate and stops this getting into the 90’s. Still a very good dram.

Dark auburn colour. Intense sherry aroma and ripen berries. Oak, burnt marshmallow, cooked nuts.
    Very long finish.

very good value for the money. Douglas Laing. A speyside's treat. gotta be a Glenfarclas. at this age, it's excellent.

  7. JamieMcDuff did not rate this whisky Newbie

    rich, old, complex Glenfarclas.

Loads of sherry, crème caramel and butterscotch. Spiciness but never overpowering, toffee, raisins. Very long finish, a wonderful balance of sherry, spiced fruits and cinnamon.

Have not opened my one yet but in the past the 'Probably Speyside's Finest' whisky's always seemed to be Glenfarclas bottlings...

Very interested in this dram. Have any of you owners opened it yet? Any tasting notes? Any idea what distillery it's from?
