    Difficult!
I like Kilchoman and I like Port! And everyone who knows me knows, Port and smoke makes me wet. So I went again this time and ordered a bottle of my dummy - in the end actually get what I should have expected, but did not expect; Namely, better Bramble liqueur - a liqueur that consists of Bramble; but this whisky is in 'hardly anything' ... Can one drink this port Matured? Answer: YES! Are there better things for this price? Answer: YES! (and more harmonic stuff anyway). Like I said, the Bramble and the Kilcho Port mentioned above do not take away so much in the end. Especially the nose and finish are frighteningly similar; Considering that the Bramble is set with New Make ... So I can only warn you here. Those who award high marks here have not drunk good Port Matured Whiskys. Shit definitely tastes different - nevertheless, I find the invoked price (80 €) for this malt at least 100% to much ... Is it now up to you who you believe? Collectors buy everything anyway, without a plan ...

Pretty outstanding dram, especially considering it's only 4 years old. The port finish is phenomenal. It complements the dram, it doesn't dominate it. As with all drams I tasted by them, Kilchoman does not fail to impress!
    • Nose
First off, that typical Kilchoman farm-y earthiness and peat combined with fresh red fruit. A little alcohol on the nose, and some very interesting citrus notes. Some fresh tobacco and a faint hint of mint.
    • Taste
Very bold red fruit and citrus notes with pepper, smoke and vanilla. With some added water the mouthfeel becomes very creamy and oily, which is definitely a plus.
    • Finish
Long and spicy. Definitely some mint in the finish, together with cooked red fruit, and again some vanilla tobacco. The taste that lingers is dark, sweet and smoky.

Quite interesting Islay malt, rather pleasant and smooth as for 4-year-old whisky. Easy going but nothing really special.
    • Nose
Fresh, winey, pear, light smoke, butterscotch, lemon, some farmy notes
    • Taste
Sweet, spicy (peppers, ginger), oaky, toffee
    • Finish
Short, oaky, spicy, slightly malty and sweet

N- Young stuff, but bottled at a good strength of 50abv to excite, furthermore is a fully matured Port Cask with eye-pleasing rusty reddish hue. Opened up with style, fish emulsion oil lay path for boiled fried fruits, berries and spices, tobacco and jammy. The sharp heat rising in the middle harboring with chocolate, sweet Indian candy snacks and pines. Highly evolving, reasonably complex and solid. (89/22)

P- As strength is the essence for young releases to make any impact, this is quite cleverly bottled at 50% abv. Well built and solid on palate. Concentrated thick red fruits with echoing rubbery nuance, cocoa, figs and fine fiery dried fruits. (87/21)

F- Medium-long, dry, spicy, red fruit liquorice and sweet. , Punchy and wild young sweet juice. (86/20)

    Body/Balance-87/21

    Weighted Rate- 84pt
