Whisky Reviews for Clynelish 1992

- A nice dram. But don't expect a too intense nose. You have to concentrate after the first sip to the aromas. That's fun!
Before first sip:
Fruity orange and some honey notes directly with the first aromas. But nothing really to explore.
After first sip (retronasal):
More intense. Dried fruits, vanilla, oranges and pineapples.
Oily mouthfeeling. Lovely sweetness out of honey. Strawberry candy and wax.
I love the spice which is coming with the finish! The finish is mid-to-long.
Strawberries, honey, apple, peach, vanilla, caramel, cereal, when it's a bit stale, there are also a few darker fruits, blackberries, and in the background a very light herbal note
Honey, cereals, apple, lime, grapefruit, strawberries, pepper
- 17.05.2017: Color: Gold, Nose: alcoholic tingling, slightly musty ++ Mouth: full, strong, old wood, spicy honey, vanilla, malty heavy +++
- Tasting Notes:
- A rather simple whisky with a strong spicy component, but by no means uninteresting - 19.05.2017
Soft and mild sherry tones, fruity, citrus, grapefruit, lychee, nougat, vanilla, spicy, Maggiwürze,
Spicy-sweet, mild, orange peel, peach, bitter herbs, black pepper, Ovaltine, some dark chocolate and even espresso to the end
First a very light nose of raisins and figs, some canned apricots, vanilla and honey
Taste much stronger than the nose, here the sherry comes through followed by chili pepper
medium long, dominated by sweet chili pepper and honey
