A lovely highland park that’s easy & enjoyable.
    Colour: Pale straw.
Nose: Honey, subtle peat, american oak, grass, dew, green pear, some chalk.
Palate: Honey & ripened fruits but light. Very distant peat. White pepper. Bitter oak. Fennel. Green tea. Herbs. Some yellow pears.
Finish: Medium. Sweet, white tea, light, easy & some honey dew melon. Quite moist.

This one is a good highland park. Quite nice bourbon cask matured whisky. Or perhaps a refill sherry cask. Elegant and classic styled Highland Park.

  2. Ostap scored this whisky 90 points Expert Senior

Good profile, good balance, elegant drinking.
    • Nose
Dry grass, peat, earthy, smoke background, citrus (lemon), smoked notes, heather, a mixture of fried nuts, hint on the farm, not alcoholic, salty seaweed, ginger-vanilla gingerbread, dried fruits, coniferous nuances, juniper nuances notes, generally noticeably salty aroma (as if you are in a salt room), slips apricot, cookies, honey notes. The aroma is initially deceptive lightness and simplicity, gradually pours heavily and begins to sound.
    • Taste
Citrus, herbaceous, meaty, salty, although fruity sweetness is palpable, herbaceous, smoked smoky, honey, cookies.
    • Finish
Herbaceous, long-lasting, mineral, citrus, dried fruits, oily, smoked-smoky mango notes, sweet sauce for meat. Less salty.

A nice Highland Park, but too expensive at $300cdn. For me anyways. Missing a certain je ne sais quoi I think.

Creamed honey, heather, soft peat, white tea. A gentle Highland Park nose.
    • Taste

Creamy, good mouthfeel, good alcohol integration. Slightly salty, heather honey, soft smoke, crushed dry rocks. Elegant HP
    • Finish
      88 88
Salt water taffy, vanilla bean, ginger, smoke, gentle coastal finish.

    Color gold

The anonymous orkneys from bourbon barrels have so far exceeded my expectations by the bank, as well as this one. 86 points
    • Nose
Ashy, dry wood, acacia honey, lemon peel, even with water a distinct alcoholic sting. Nitrile gloves. Wet pebbles, beaten flint stone. Opens up strong, grassier, more citrus, vanilla, green apples. Time takes away a bit of sharpness.
    • Taste
Sharp start, medium volume. Earthy, grassy, lemon peel, unripe plums, green apples, black pepper. Dry chips, nutmeg. White ash.
    • Finish
Long, slightly hot. Flint stone and ash, dominant tannins. Dry bitter. Pickled cucumbers, chlorinated water.
