    Has some promising elements to it: complexity, mostly pleasant flavors, originality, cask strength, resistant to water. But, has a chaotic feel to it. The elements don't seem to fit too well. Gets cloudy with water. The wet clothes flavor isn't appealing, if I'm able to identify it correctly. Pepper on top of all that alcohol seems overkill. Mild nose, and less complex aftertaste. An iffy whisky.

      A mild nose. Apple, lemon. Something synthetic, paint, maybe. Wet cloth. Honey, amplified with water.

      Creamy, but strong alcohol and pepper overshadows it. Lemon, oak. Honey, amplified with water. One teaspoon of water worked for me, and the whisky.

      The same elements carry through mildly.

    An unusual whisky that for once could have used some cask enhancement.
    • Nose
      Butter, meadow flowers, bread, wet bread dough, dirty towels, and unwashed floorboards. Somewhat greasy and beer-y too.
    • Taste
      A fairly biting entry, with lamp oil, barley, faint licorice. This is basically barley eau de vie with a wisp of peat.
    • Finish
      Oily and faintly tarry.

    A real powerhouse, very intense whisky. With some alcohol bitterness, but actually not disturbing at all. A lot of fruitiness, less floral as I use to encounter in a Blair Athol, but very pleasant.

      Now much smoother, yet some pickering. Sweet and fruits, orange, some honey. Pretty long, with again some alcohol bitterness.

    Aroma: fairly discreet, citrus candy, apple juice concentrate, vanilla, apple cider vinegar, apricot jam, dusty sacking, wet dog hair (!), A hint of minerals, salt.

    Taste: hot red pepper, apple peel, bitterness from citrus peel, almond nut, fruit caramel, spices, rather dry.

    Finish: decaying spices, herbal bitter tincture, apple juice, dried apple bone, of medium length.

    Rating: 86.

    The result: a pleasant young molt, very bright and fruity with an abundance of red pepper and spices.

    Specifically, this malt. He invited me to play with water. When it got cloudy, I even found it delicious. I like the Blair Athol distillery and have a whisky in the glass that is a little out of line. Not a must have but not at all unrelenting.

    Nose: sweet, perfume, leather, pears, wood smoke. Mouth: dryness, pepper, apples, oak. Finish: long, spicy, apples, pears. It’s a strong, sweet and easy drinkable whisky with pear-apple notes.
