Whisky Reviews for Isle of Jura The Road
7 users have left a review for this whisky and scored it an average of 80.20 points
- It’s quite a good Dutikovsky Jura. Simple but quite normal on QPR.
Open, very fresh, very alcoholic and overweight. Coniferous forest in winter, burnt grass and flowers, orange peel, a little caramel, nuances of mustiness and dust, citruses.
Bitter, barely sweet, slightly dry, bitten with pepper. Flowers and herbs, a burnt tree, the nuances of smoked meats, tangerines, malt, a piece of wood, a little caramel.
Dry, bitter, woody pepper. Black pepper, a piece of wood, caramel, burnt flowers.
- Blank test / sample.
Aroma: Lighter fragrance, I get blend, but with some pizziness and juiciness on top. Nuts, chocolate, old wood, wind and (hopefully) light influence of port. (81 pts)
Taste: First post-tongue and I guess 40%. Spicy (mainly cinnamon), warm but weak (percentage of alcohol). Nuts, a little heavier wood and dark chocolate, sweetly sweet, forest honey. (83 pts)
Summary: Although it is weak, thought much diluted, but not bad. I'm guessing some solid, juicy blend. After declassification there is no blend, but only more diluted single maltka and it is not a barrel after port but after bourbon / PX.
- Was expecting more from this, wouldn’t buy this again. The 16 is far better and cheaper
Good start, quite fruity
Fairly bland with little depth
Fairly none existent.
