    Awesome and well integrated Croftengea. The Lomond sourdough note isn't overpowering and turns the heaviness of the peat into a lovely sweet style.
    • Nose
      Dank, musty and salty with some white wine vinegar.
    • Taste
      Big big peat backed by a slight sour apples flavour. Even some wet leaves in there.
    • Finish
      Slow finish that lingers with a strong waft of smoke.

    My first peated Loch Lomond since I visited them last year and got to know them better.
    • Nose
      Sweet and earthy peat-smoke. Fresh notes come through like in their non-peated expressions. Completely different peat-smoke compared to Islay and even Ledaig.
    • Taste
      Quite oily. Mild peaty flavors. But strong and heavy overall taste. Slightly meaty; reminds me of BBQ notes.
    • Finish
      Long finish. Well balance of sweetness, peat and mild spices till the end.

    It hasn’t been particularly a snapshot this one. I’m enjoying this heavily peated Loch Lomond, in the name of Croftengea, again today and what a delight it is. It is so incredibly fruity with the peated layer complimenting the whole. It is definitely there but never takes over the experience. It is a truly splendid balance!!

    Gheghe Loch Lomond does it again. I developed a big weak spot for Loch Lomond and this proves why.
    • Nose
      Fresh, very fruity and a sweet, ‘clean’ and earthy kind of peat. Very well balanced. It reminds my a little of Ledaig. Earthy peat.
    • Taste
      Sweet earthy peat, creamy, silky, and again well balanced. Also a lot of fresh fruitiness. I get red apples, sweet melon and white grapes. There is also a savory note. Like in a little smoked bbq meat kind of way.
    • Finish
      Long. Creamy, peaty, balanced and sweet. Highly enjoyable! This finish is a mini party on it’s own. Again a lot of fruitiness. Again sweet melon, also something that reminds me of bbq’ed vegetables.

      Impressive stuff!

    Almost to be confused with a straight-forward Ledaig ...
    • Nose
      Extremely sweet peat, and smoke, manure (is that a leather?), Lemon, bright fruits, salt;
    • Taste
      Peat and smoke with many herbs, lemon, salt, astringent;
    • Finish
      Dry! Lemon, salt and subtly medicated;
