In the nose I have an aromatic-sweet smokiness with custard, caramel and some cinnamon. That smells wonderful. The whisky is a bit closed, however, smelling is a bit more strenuous than expected. There are hints of light-colored fruit, for me it is towards peach with lemon zest. With a few drops of water, the aromas are now easier to separate from each other, but there are no other aromas for me. As aromatic as the smoke is, the whisky has so far been boring, not very complex and closed.
In the mouth the whisky is less strong than expected, I definitely don't have to dilute it here. An incredible sweetness mixes with the smoke and takes up the entire mouth. Very aromatic and with vanilla sweetness and a pinch of cinnamon. Light tannins with liquorice, ash and some leather are noticeable, but are so enveloped by the sweetness that they have a bitter-sweet effect. The hint of bitterness is immediately suppressed.
The finish is short to medium, with sweet smoke, some ash, a hint of rubber and a gentle spiciness of pepper and cinnamon. The flavors have disappeared faster than expected, which is a shame because this sweet smoke is very pleasant.
Overall, the whisky is too simple and too one-dimensional. Locked in the nose, in the mouth I find it much better, the finish is much too short. Still, I have to say that the sweetness with the smoke makes an interesting combination, which is especially tasty in the mouth. If you got a bottle at that price, you certainly didn't go wrong. But he's far from playing with the big boys. But you can't expect that for the price.
I gave it a scant 85/100 points.
