Medium + intensity, lively, blood orange, apricot, toffee, milk chocolate, sour plum, dusty, caramel and some sweet spice, cloves. a little hint of hazelnut. with water, a lot more fresh herb like basil and mint.
Medium + intensity, full body because of the 60.6%abv, sweet but dry on the palate, with some acidity.
rather shorter and empty finish. expect more from it. I would rate it as medium finish.
- Really interesting malt from 3 types of casks - oloroso butts, bourbon barrels and virgin oak hoggies. Rachel Barrie is really a great blender. I believe this is a 10yo given the casks are from '06, '07, '08 per Benriach.
Very spirity without water. There's chocolate, toffee, spiced apples. You can pick out the oloroso in the nose. It really adds a nice dimension - subtle but so well placed. It adds a bit of that dank cellar note which is so easily overdone but not at all here.
Almost just anesthetizing without water. Then is opens up a creamy chocolate, green apples and something I’m saying is cigar tobacco.
Just a bit of raspberry on the swallow – a candy type of raspberry like framboise. Goes deeper after that – cholocate, caramel and again that cellar note.
- N: sherry cask, heavy cream, figs, dates, honey, oats
P: tad sharp, honey, strong oak influence, lightly nutty
F: lots of oak, heat

- This is how whisky scores in taste and finnish. The smell is simpler, more woody. As a result, it's a nice matter. I like the silky smoothness and sweetness that tastes the whole thing.
Woody, very light, and some sweetness - probably sherry. But only very carefully and not doing well. Fruit, ripe apples. Cinnamon. Not complex, but rather straightforward.
Chocolate and honey sweets. Sherry? Tanned wood, after a while spice appears and peeks out sharpness (but it is no murder, more pleasant sharpness). The taste is dense, oily, silky texture.
Sweet, honey - woody. Warm, quite long. Spicy.
- a 10-12 year old who spent on 3 different barrels:
woody nose !, then a little floral with a certain freshness
the mouth (a starter can help, or qq drops of water!) gives in an intense vanilla woody, in a creamy sensation too, a woody return cooked, toasted, caramelized, again well vanilla and remains in the mouth durably.
The vanilla finish, medium woody.
