Luscious, mouth-watering, flawless - yet another great Speysider from 1973 - with 45yo the oldest release so far - not sure if there will be released even older ones as I havent seen any more recent releases. Fantastic stuff!

    • Taste

Punchy, oily, very fruity, again the whole fruit basket, variety of good wood notes, spices, zesty, bananas, creme brulee - great!
    • Finish

Long, warm, fruity, just hints of grapefruit - very good!

Tropical fruits grapefruit citrus, another excellent speyside from maltbarn

  11. Ostap scored this whisky 94 points Connoisseur

Noble, very thoroughbred whisky. No drawbacks. It doesn't try to impress, at first it even seems a bit poor on the components, but their fit and saturation are simply chic. A masterpiece of taste!
    • Nose
      93 93
Bright, tropical fruit, pickle marinade, rich lacquer, dessert, iris, dust, hint of sea salt, cookies, pepper, lemon, propolis / wax, monpanese in powdered metal cans, delicious oak, some potions, notes of skin, dried apricots in chocolate, floral notes.
    • Taste
      95 95

  12. Calmar scored this whisky 94 points Connoisseur

Excellent, multi-faceted and deep whisky, many halftones and shades, a rich palette of derivatives, excellent balance, the perfect combination of oak, grain and floral and citrus motifs, resulting in a wonderful, sunny, summer release.
    • Nose
Open, dry, noble wood, old furniture, salty grape leaves, larch, light resin shades, dry herbs, potion tones, roasted nuts, camphor, eucalyptus, creamy notes - fondant, toffee; floral-grassy motifs, cilantro.
    • Taste
Soft, saturated, oak, lemon peel, astringent bark, lemonade notes, grain, monpansier candies, floral-herbal shades, vanilla, creamy tones, prickly mineral motifs appear in the development.
    • Finish
Soft, warming, oak, cream, vanilla, grain, a little lemon zest and lemonade shades, floral and grassy motifs, very smooth, a little tougher in development, more oak and minerality, but also much sweeter.

Flavor has notes of spices, pear, onion marinade, new wood, vanilla, caramel. Taste echoes flavor with spicy notes. Finish echoes taste with hot spicy cut.

While this is the best and most age whisky from what he tried.
In the mouth, there is simply an explosion of a bomb stuffed with spices and fruit. Awesome aroma and long, enveloping aftertaste

The most difficult assessment in my life.
If 100 is absolute, then this does not exist ... And here it is very similar to this ...
Dancing on the bones ... It makes no sense to write anything - it is beautiful !!!
Tried with and without water - water is not needed here.
    Wonderful balance.
Nose: drop, dushes, propolis, heather, some berries ...
Taste: caramel, toffee, monponce, red currant ...
    Aftertaste: infinitely tender.
At this point, the best molt I have tried. Thanks Martin.
