For the price of EUR 39.99 you get here a good and honest single-cask bottling from the Benrinnes distillery. The whisky is harmonious and is good and uncomplicated to drink. As a result, he will of course like the masses and this will certainly be wanted by Aldi. Due to the still existing New Make aroma - straight in the nose - I would like to commit myself to the fact that it most probably is not a first- or 2nd-fill barrel, since the exchange with the barrel seems to be a bit restrained. Overall, I liked the whisky a lot and I felt well entertained. The price is now not a discount price as you would expect and more comparable to other independent bottlings of this age. At Signatory, however, you get a 20-year-old Benrinnes from the Hogshead for just 49 euros.

Very dominant. Especially fruity and sweetish aromas. Unripe apricots, prunes, bitter oranges and pears. At the beginning a very diminished, but quite noticeable New Make aroma. Behind it lie subtle hay aromas that mate with vanilla and honey. The longer he breathes the more I hear a pleasant herbal honey aroma.

At the age of 9, though comparatively young, slightly metallic but not quite as wild anymore. The alcohol is well integrated. Front on the tip of the tongue I hear a slight pepper sharpness. Overall, a good balance of mild spiciness and sweet flavors such as honey / maple syrup and light milk chocolate. Slightly bitter tobacco notes and subtle oak at the back of the mouth. Harmonious and refreshing.

Fairly dry and still slightly peppery with an oak spice. Sweet cereal with pear and honey. Medium.
