Notes from a blind tasting.
Oha, I would have thought that for at least two and a half times so old, so you can be wrong. Does not change the fact that I found him to be extremely good, a pity that he is obviously already sold out completely.
Earthy, vinous, mineral with some apple cider vinegar, it presents itself directly after pouring. After plenty of service, dominoes hit me first, then garlic and menthol, as well as potato soup. If that is not weird and unusual, then I do not know anymore. At the same time, he does not feel uncomfortable at any time, just different stops. In the background, even normal Whisky notes, which try to penetrate the front, have so far been unsuccessful.
Now that he has been involuntarily covered in the glass overnight, he seems like a completely normal malt whisky. The oblique notes are still there, but only added to citrus notes, some honey and a mineral touch. For the first time, fruit is also on the rise with warmth, apricot jam and oranges with a high acid content, immature. The alcohol is now tingling clearly in the nose. Later he gets really sweet, rather sweet-salty, the potato soup returns.
* On the second day, this time instead of a Glencairn with an Eisch Jeunesse Sensis Plus, these oblique notes were still present, but clearly pushed back. Instead, the nose here seemed rather sherrylastig, slightly sweaty with dark fruits and dried fruit. But very different, more ordinary.
In the mouth, it is almost clinically pure, so clean is the. A full load of light honey with a consistency like heavy oil, plus a light chilli-catch, dries off to the back slightly with a pinch of dry herbs, the alcohol is quite strong. In the second sip is a splash of lemon and he is now here salty meaty.
* Now with the Eisch glass darker and a bit drier, but still outstanding!
He then also warms the chest significantly while he continues to dry. A slight bitterness lingers for a long time, a full mouth-lining feeling, as if one had just taken an opulent meal, remains much longer.
* Yesterday I had such a feeling, today with the Eisch glass I really think that there are a few ppm smoke with it.
