The most unusual of all. I'd rather put him in Campbeltown. But I liked it anyway. In the 1940s there were probably problems in the supply of coal and also with sherry casks, so that the whisky carries distinct peat flavors and almost no Sherry sweetness in itself.
    • Nose
A very kräutrige and herbaceous nose. Sweet, a light diesel note, burned plastic, some orange peel. There is definitely peat in the game.
    • Taste
Sweet, herbaceous, slightly tart in the mouth. Has almost a little of cough syrup. Very oily in the consistency.
    • Finish
Departure, strong, bitter-sweet, some smoke, some peat, a little astringent.

Conclusion: a specific, dense Macallan, which will necessarily be deposited in memory unusual, for this distillery, a smoky character. Apparently the whisky of this style was produced in the 40s of the last century. Its minus-sample quickly exhales, turning into a simple, slightly salty, smoked whisky.
    • Nose
Aroma: complex, perfumed, heavy, with oak, sherry, honey, nutmeg, pepper and ash in the distance. In taste, spicy spices, salt, nuts, dry tannins, sherry-honey notes and almost imperceptible phenols are well combined.
    • Taste
In taste, spicy spices, salt, nuts, dry tannins, sherry-honey notes and almost imperceptible phenols are well combined.
    • Finish
Finish: long, enveloping; with a wine slope (prunes, raisins); with a large content of hints of spicy spices, salt, buckwheat honey, nutmeg; with a strong influence of oak and a light smoked echo, which appears at the very end of the aftertaste.

A Macallan, as he was allegedly produced in the 40s ...

Like the 50's, the 40iger Travel series is a rather modest malt. Some rough edges, in a nice outer packaging is my summary. But that's nothing to enjoy!

Fruity and smoky aroma, floral honey, apples,

pears, toffee, cinnamon and vanilla. Vanilla sweet taste, peat smoke,

pepper, cardamom, red apples, hops and oak. Medium long, malty and spicy

    end.
