    • Nose
immediately that lovely sweet heather peat of a highland park. Nuts, honey, soft smoky, citrus, light sulfur, orange and something that reminds me of new make spirit.
    • Taste
the nose is the most beautiful of the whisky because here it falls a bit dead. It is a bit flat. Has light honey, is not as smoky as the nose suggests, the sulfur is flattened even more. A pity actually ... bottling at 46% would probably do a small miracle with the taste.
    • Finish
short. Citrus, sweet caramel, a little malt, suddenly a little revival of a trace of smoke. And then the taste slowly dies.

I smell light peat. Orkney heather and vanilla make it smell nice and sweet. Citrus fruit and a hint of smoke is what I get at the end.

Peat and a custard cake are the first to taste. An earthy tone with the spiciness of ginger come through. At the end citrus peel.
    • Finish

Medium-long and creamy. A slight aftertaste of smoky ash. The vanilla also lingers.

a delicious "naked" Highland Park. It is gratifying that there is no noticeable barrel influence, especially no sherry barrels. Nice straight profile with a little peat and very fresh. I like it well and half a bottle for little money is really a great move.
    • Nose
Sweet, mineral, waxy, some vanilla, citrus, a minimal hint of peat, youthful, but no "new make" impact, straightforward and very clean.
    • Taste
the 40% make the malt extremely soft and in the end very tasty. sweet notes, but also tart and grassy, with a little peat.
    • Finish
warm and surprisingly long, slightly bitter, citrus peel, grassy, waxy and noticeably peaty, without it becoming too much.

delicious stuff, that sulfuric character of Highland Park, he calls drink me drink me.
    No beginner whisky
40% a little too low, 45% had been ideal.

Got this "baby" bottle as gift of the Magnus Eunson tour at the distillery.
