Nose: very fruity and sweet, slightly perfumed soap sweetness, tangerine juice, pineapple, light lemon acidity, rice wine, fresh cut oak, pencil shavings, vanilla, some pepper and cinnamon Great thing - Arran fits wonderfully together with Bourbon Casks - lots of fruit, sweetness and pleasant fresh wood notes.

Taste: surprisingly spicy, first again a lot of fruit and honey sweetness then an incredibly creamy hazelnut note, nutmeg and a fine wood aroma with strong espresso bitter notes. In the medium-long finish, then again bitterness and nougat then comes a slight perfume sweetness and vanilla and again neat wood and yes then again some pineapple back out. Great twist to the nose but a little more fruit flavor I would have preferred.
Super bottling with dreamlike bourbon cask nose, interesting twist and good finish. Price borderline but still ok for presentation and quality. Clear buy recommendation if you like bourbon cask and intensive wood.

Vey decent Bourbon cask with typical Arran nose and taste, but probably needs more time + oxygen to disclose its full potential as most cs bottles do. Will adjust my rating accordingly if it gets (even) better and smoother in time. Thus far not a dud at all but no stellar release, either. Also thanks wb for the pretty presentation! ;-) 87p.Update 11/4/18

Very nice nose, variously fruity, some oak spice.
Pleasantly creamy and oily in the mouth, with tropical fruits and oak spices in exactly the right dose.

    • Nose
Nice fruit notes, moving in the more yellow-fruity area, apricot, peach, mango (sour) apple, a certain amount of acidity is included, also have orange notes and lemon, but more orange than lemon, malt, cookie dough, the alcohol comes through a little and makes you fresh around the nose, honey.
    • Taste
Also fruity in the mouth, if not quite as much, because there is now a lot of wood here. Correspondingly tart and spicy, with nice notes of tobacco, chamomile, vanilla, accompanied by the now less dominant fruit notes of apple, apricot, peach and orange.
    • Finish
The fruit lingers in the finish and becomes increasingly bitter.

Nicely balanced malt from nose to finish. Light-fruity and sweet, the age brings in a nice wood note. A few drops of water soften the start and take away the slight alcoholic tinge in the nose. Notes from a blind tasting.
    • Nose
Light fruity & sweet with ripe pears and apricots, cereals and honey. Slight alcohol tinge and some citrus on the back. After the first sip, I also have a woody note in my nose and the alcoholic tinge is gone. Or maybe it's because of the addition of water.
    • Taste
: With a few drops of water: Very mild start. Aromas from the nose also on the palate. In addition, a slight ginger spiciness that stimulates the saliva. With a larger sip, I have the tip of pepper on my tongue. Citrus fruits.
    • Finish
A pleasantly dry note of wood and a gentle bitterness alternate.

Nose is very good with hints of a selection of citruses. The palate serves up a mixture of barley stalks, grist and tangerines. I think this will open up as time passes since opening.

Tasting notes also availanle in french on the whisky blog ;)
    • Nose
Very sweet and very fruity, on mandarins with a hint of lemon. Vanilla notes with a hint of spice. A little woody touch, that could maybe let you think to a new barrel.
    • Taste
Very fruity, here too, but almost monotonous, I would have preferred a real fruit salad. But you’ve got a nice honeyed sweetness and a wonderful creamy sensation that counterbalances this little lack of complexity. There’s still this woody touch but the spices notes are more powerful than with the nose. By the way, would you like some vanilla too? Hoooo yes, sir, with pleasure. (Hoot, that’s it, I’m talking again all alone, poor me).
    • Finish
Moderately long, with vanilla and the same woody touch.
