    A nice, sweet, mild whiskey like a liqueur. The positive surprise of the tasting

    The second Glendalough I taste ...
    even this is not convincing.
    • Nose
      72 72
      Vanilla, a slight note of sherry, a little bit musty, although only 42% has a noticeable alcohol note.
    • Taste
      70 70
      Sweet, woody tannins otherwise empty and flat
    • Finish
      65 65
      Bitter oak that sticks to the palate for a long time, not really good.

  10. Malthead19 scored this whisky 73 points Connoisseur

    - a still impetuous young Irishman
    - would have thought that a little more due to the 2 barrel storage
    Aroma and softness are present
    - hardly any depth, quite simple and straightforward
    • Nose
      Bourbon, toffee, vanilla, alcohol still clearly noticeable, felt quite young, stronger than 42%
    • Taste
      young, slightly burning, oak, vanilla, spice, classic Irish (still quite alcoholic) taste
    • Finish
      short, even stronger finish;
      strong present warm aftertaste

    Surprising and better than expected. A decent whiskey that the finish in sherry casks has done well!
    Good value for money!
    • Nose
      flowery, herbaceous, hay, fruity, alcoholic notes (?);
    • Taste
      mild, soft onset, dried fruits, caramel, a little vanilla, honey; over all Citrusaroma (lemon, Lemone); creamy, soft, some ginger (spice);
    • Finish
      medium length, buttery finish; Aftertaste citrus notes;

    N- Whiff of spirit comes fore, then gummy fruits, paper ash, vanilla and charred wood. Soft raisin and fig that set well in the mid palate. Cotton ball, popcorn, sweet grainy and floral. Sweet wash, brewed beer and dried fruits chocolate. Neither rich nor complex but evolving well with scrumptious of pleasing aromas. (87/21)

    P- Cotton ball and brewed beer prevails, balance of vanilla ad dried fruits derives from both casks. Satisfying clove and soft spices, sour plum, get sweeter with corn syrup as it goes. (86/20)

    F- Short medium, semi dry with pepper coats. Nicely spiced and feel like just had an asam-boi. Easy and unoffensive and quite lovely (86/20)
