Whisky Reviews for Bunnahabhain 2009 GM

2 users have left a review for this whisky and scored it an average of 85.30 points

  1. rottendon scored this whisky 85 points Connoisseur

Interesting Malt, maybe not quite balanced but definitely with character. The soap in the nose gives prints in the B-note.

    Notes from a blind tasting.

At first very restrained, after a few minutes then sherry influences, buttery, sweet and full. after a little more time he gets really heavy, but not really oversherried. Caramels. It is much lighter, fruity, yellow compote and even herbs I find now. Do him well. The alcohol bizzles now, however, something in the nose. There's a bit of soap coming late, okay, too hot. Bach now some acid available for cooling.
    • Taste
      87 87
Fairly strong in the beginning, looks a bit young, otherwise it is caramel sweet, beautiful oily, tingles slightly on the tongue, back even quite strong, dries off significantly, even slightly bitter. Shows hints of a damp cellar.
    • Finish
      84 84
The finish warms for a long time, stuns the tongue sustainably and remains medium-bitter slightly bitter on the tongue. The sweetie is gone quickly.
