  1. Lorion scored this whisky 85 points Expert Senior

    Quite delicious and very vinous with wood, which may also be with a Couvreur one. However, the intensity and the bewitching abundance of flavors are missing. Those who are there are beautiful. But I'm more used to Couvreur. 85 points.
    • Nose
      Wine-soaked biscuits. Hazelnuts. Soft fruits, surprisingly fresh. Some kräutriger tobacco with mint. Dried fruits and cashew nuts. Student food just. Some dry wood is there too. The character of the wine becomes stronger, a bit cidery. It gets sweeter than expected.
    • Taste
      Tobacco-heavy oak, barely sweet. Something blackberry, nut mix. Dry red wine. Also the Nachschmecken is dry. The alcohol does not bite, but tingles. For Couvreur, the palate is also surprisingly woody.
    • Finish
      Medium long, vinous and dry. Soft fruits and very subtle tobacco.

    A dram that I will put more easily at the start of a meal compared to its little brother on the 12th! a dram that I see on the rise for its note finally!

      much fresher than the XII, we are dealing here at the nostrils with an explosion of scents on cooked fruit, on toasted almonds, on a return of creamy yellow wine, on crushed nuts, on soaked, kneaded raisins ; a vegetable return is also required;
      A little dust in return as well as old leather, it requires going further in the test!
    • Taste
      89 89
      cooked apricot, spices with nutmeg, wine, dry from Alsace, mushrooms and humus at once, herbs, garden plants (turnip still buried); a little fatty on the palate, the freshness fades on an oily, maderized side, a dry sherry in concentrate there
      wax, dried and crushed nuts and hazelnuts, now soaked wood that brings out the scents, pleasant at that time;
      maturation in barrels of yellow Jura wine reaches its peak there, it becomes heavy, typical of the wine itself which would have condensed, crystallized in fact, just a little sweet too, a little honey in fact.
    • Finish
      87 87
      on the oak, the vinous wine, the spices, a bit rancid not bitter, the fruit on the candied orange, on the soaked raisins, a slightly earthy finish too.
      medium to slightly long finish, rather subtle.

    delicious as a relaxing aperitif, just to open the bottle and put it everywhere, or melt to avoid the wrath of his bride!

      Wood, dried fruit, really intense nuts, nutmeg and other spices, earth, match sulfur, dark honey, blackberries, strawberries, cough syrup (so herbaceous and sweet), grasses and herbs,
    • Taste

      dark honey, blackberries, raspberries, wood, nuts, lemon, lemon peel, coffee, grapefruit, pepper

    Very elegant and fine. Here you have to concentrate in order to really get involved with the whisky. Then you will be rewarded with a great whisky!
