    You can tell the old age of the whisky, a beautifully matured malt from the bourbon barrel. Everything very harmonious and set. The only thing he could have used a little more alcohol, but that is complaining on a high level.
    Let's see how it develops, currently scores 88 points.
    • Nose
      89 89
      intense fruity sweetness; ripe yellow fruits; Apples; Pears; Apricot jam; a dash of citrus; Honey; Vanilla; everything accompanied by a fine woody spice; everything is very harmonious and the alcohol is perfectly integrated
      - a wonderfully matured bourbon barrel nose, I could smell it forever
    • Taste
      89 89
      creamy-soft start; sweet; fruity; Apples; Apricots; Vanilla; some coconut; with time in the mouth a little white pepper comes up; in the background a nicely integrated oak spice
      - The malt is very soft, harmonious and set in the mouth without being too watery. 48% would have suited him better
    • Finish
      87 87
      medium to long; fruity; Vanilla; delicate bitter-tart wood spice that lingers for a long time

    Another tasty, older Glengoyne from a Bourbon cask. Lots of yellow fruit aromas, paired with creamy Bourbon vanilla notes and pleasantly restrained oak spices. Nicely complex, delicate and well-balanced. A pleasant companion at the end of a beautiful day.
    • Nose
      Fruity and sweet on the nose with apricots, bananas and a whiff of lemon in the back. This is followed by lingering vanilla and a touch of oak. Needs a bit time to open up.
    • Taste
      Creamy and sweet on the palate with a delicate mix of vanilla, apricots and coconut. Becomes sweeter and more creamy along with brambles, slightly warming oak and white pepper. Very nice indeed.
    • Finish
      Medium to long finish. Creamy and slightly warm with vanilla, sticky fruit and a touch of dry oak on the tail.

      With water: Quite fruity on the nose when a few drops of water are added. Creamy vanilla and ripe yellow fruit. Surprisingly spicy on the palate with prickling oak and black pepper while the delicate vanilla sweetness remains stable. The finish shows medium length with prickling oak, sticky fruit and a whiff of lemon on the tail.

    Pretty interesting given the fact that most Glengoynes are sherry cask matured. Gets a bit weaker on the nose after a few months in the opened bottle, but that doesn‘t matter at all because it‘s so delicious it won‘t last much longer anyway. Sláinte!

      Initially a sweet, sourly note, that reminds me of fallen apples. Smooth oak spice with gentle vanilla, followed by sweet light fruits and dried apricots.
    • Taste
      90 90
      Again sweet and fruity with vanilla, coconut, fresh apples and some slightly sour fruit - almoust like ripe brambles. In the background you get some pleasant pepper and oaky warmth.
    • Finish
      89 89
      Very fruity (hard to specify) and sweet with rich vanilla sponge cake and a tender oaky spiciness lasting in a rather medium length.
