A real surprise. Tried over a sample gift and really surprisingly good. No whisky for every day, because here it takes time to deal with it.
    • Nose
Starts strange. Very earthy smells or peaty? Is that a salty note? Everything rests in wood fire smoke. And then there are fruity notes, such as citrus.
    • Taste
Peppery, very earthy, it occupies the mouth.
It gets sweet with honey and a little vanilla and then the caramel gets stronger. Behind the fruity citrus notes.
    • Finish
It finishes massively warming over wood fire smoke and leaves behind some sweet caramel. Enjoyable.

    • Nose
Some smoke and a bit stale but also some citrus fruit.
    • Taste
Had to think about Ledaig profile for a moment. Now a bit salty and smoky. Then the sweetness really comes to the fore with vanilla and citrus fruit.
    • Finish
      Medium with a pepper

Tasted at Zino's during a WB Whisky diner. The matching dish was roasted porkbelly. For me it was certainly not an easy-going dram, but the combination was excellent.

light peat in the nose, especially with a drop of water, salty, earthy in the mouth, but nothing spectactular, had better ones

Nose: peat, iodine, a lot of iodine, and burnt rubber.

Taste: iodine, bandaids and youthful spirit. This is really not good. I don’t really want to drink the rest.

nicley peated, at first overwhelming and it needs some time until the other aromas are coming through. reminds me of some ardbeg, salty and hints of citrus, some sweets as well. finish is nice, long lasting, and sweetness hustles with the peat. Fine Dram indeed!

A whisky that is not easy to abord in fact, and to give a note to. It lacks a little subtleties, or it’s my palate that can not catch them. Not really my cup of tea in fact, it also plays … Anyway, thank you for the sample Whiskybase!

    • Nose
Hey… A peated Loch Lomond, that will be my first.  Earthy notes first but also slightly grassy… rather hay actually. Saline notes come next, with smoke, also present but not in the foreground.
    • Taste
A peat well present, not as much and in the same way as in an Islay, the smoke is for example not as invasive and acrid than with an Ardbeg. But this whisky is however strong in the mouth, as can be an Islay, with a smoke more present than with the nose. In fact it is not an Islay but it looks like in some aspects. You follow me? Well I understand myself, it’s not so bad ???? After the peat, we got some light notes of vanilla.
    • Finish
Only the smoke persists, with length. But, i have to say that Islay whiskies have sometimes a tendency to numb my palate. Ho wait, that’s right, it’s not an Islay.
