Law class. I liked that very much. But you shouldn't give your colleague too much time in the glass. Otherwise it will lose its aromas.

Fleshy, greasy smoke. Plus a pinch of salt and a trace of asphalt. Sweet paprika. Smells a bit dull. In the direction of children's dough and potatoes. Overripe pineapple, fresh flowers. A little lovage and a little rusty.
    • Taste
Mild start. Then pepper and some ginger. Light asphalt vapor in the taste too. Behind it boiled, light-colored fruits. So in the direction of mirabelle plums. Ne bitter herbal note. Then again nice and sweet on the cheeks. On the tongue, it's more like mashed potatoes. In addition, this trace of salt again.
    • Finish
Medium to long. First oily sweet. Then again greasy and slightly cheesy.

    Blind sample.

I guessed an old Glen Scotia. And scored it an 87.
I really had no reason to guess Glen Scotia, but it’s a weird malt with flaws. While this can work, it can also not...

The profile is old school. Straw and clay huts. Mud, wispy smoke, dried lemon. There is a little soap on the palate, but dissipates quickly. Other than the soapy note it’s actually rather characterful and charming. Regardless it loses a few points because soap is a flaw.

    Oily & coastalGreasy margaritas

A fresh tartness greeted us with the invigorating waft of damp pine forest and lime juice with balsamic vinegar over red onions. Lime juice moved towards frozen margaritas ahead of red apples that ventured into more musty terrain with noble rot dessert wine and leather. Water released pear drops and toasted pine nuts with stuffed vine leaves. Greasy notes appeared with a mouth-coating viscosity like old engine oil mixed with orange zest. Black cherry pie and apple turnovers made way for a balanced finish of dry oak with mint yoghurt and Moroccan spices. After spending 27 years in an ex-bourbon hogshead this was transferred to a 2nd fill toasted hogshead for the remainder of its maturation.
