    Nice treacherous and delicious.
    • Nose
      Blinde tasting:

      Leather, snuff and cowshed.
    • Taste
Soft in the beginning. Sweet with oak and Vanilla. Creamy.
    • Finish
A true afterburner with a fruity, oaky and smoky Finish.

I very much do appreciate and recognize the unquestionable quality here. First fill bourbon & sherry casks, high ABV, natural color, no chill filtration. Just have
the feeling that the combination of smoke and heavy sherry is not entirely my thing. I can imagine that somebody with a different personal preference would score this 90+, easily. Is a matter of taste. Anyway, this is a robust, intense, complex (sweet, sour, bitter, spicy, woody, peaty, smoky, fruity), oily, honest, well done whisky in its category. Recommended, if you don't mind the combination of peat and sherry.

very nice for just 10y old! I enjoy the combination of sherry and peat, it's packed with flavor, works very well without the water, but a bit of water opens it up and lets the fruit come out even more! that's what I call a "full-bodied" whisky for a nice winter evening:)
    • Nose
      88 88
sweet malt, sherry, leather, fresh oak wood, peppermint, a hint of peat smoke
    • Taste
      88 88
salty & sweet, dried/canned fruit, milk chocolate, bacon, some smoke, but not too much, oak notes
    • Finish
      87 87
medium-long, sweet tones from the sherry dominate, slight peat notes

  6. Malthead19 scored this whisky 86 points Connoisseur

    - a damn good 10 year old whisky,
    - very successful and elegant to drink, both pure and diluted with water,
    - Far better than the normal standard 10 years (has a significantly more sherry flavor)
    • Nose
distinct sweetness, caramel, spice, berries, sherry
    • Taste
very soft and mild start for the 57% !, a lot of sherry, very strong development and improvement in the palate, raisins, grapes, sweet fruit aromas / sherry
    • Finish
Medium-long, soft finish, long sweet and spicy aftertaste, the sherry aromas remain on the tongue for a long time

  7. TsiAI scored this whisky 87 points Expert Senior

Eyes: Orange Gold Smell Nose: Compared with 15 years of 43 degrees, it has a stronger smoke, and the high alcohol content makes the smell more scent. Souffle, vanilla cream, butter shortbread, syrup and large pieces of salt, lemon juice, grapefruit peel, fishy fish, leather goods, beeswax. Palate: extremely salty, medium sweet, medium sour. Dried fruit, applesauce, white vinegar, citrus peel, kelp, sea water, salt-coated sea fish, bacon, chocolate, toasted oak, shredded tobacco, milky flavor in the back, dried frozen fruit, white toast. Finish: Long, smoky, charcoal grilled fish, cream, cocoa powder, orange zest. Body: heavy, rich in fat, solid, heavier than 15 years, not too different from other places

    Nose: 87/100
    Palate: 88/100
    Finish: 87/100
    Body: 88/100
    Overall: 87.5/100

Sherry and smoke. Some old leather and tobacco with coffee. Is there still an orange hiding there?
    • Taste
      86 86
Thick oily and smoky. With a good portion of sherry. Im taste a little more modern than the nose but everything can be found. Even the old leather sofa. A my cub can be found or it is the same thing that bothers me about the glenfarclas. Always reminds me of iron
    • Finish
      87 87
Long woody and spicy and maggi.

A very fine malt. I found this to be a bit more dry than the 10 year old (43%) and a little more peaty and peppery.
    • Nose
Liqurice and pickled fruits, barn/hay with mild soft peat
    • Taste
Powerful and packed with flavor, Sweetness, mild peat, some oaky dryness on the tongue. Water opens and softens it up with more fruit
    • Finish
      Long and sweet
