    Just terrific. Spectacular. So intense vinous and greasy at the same time. 93 points.
    • Nose
      Smoky mulled wine with cinnamon sticks, oranges and cloves. Some dates in bacon. Mountain cheese. Nutty wine. Strawberries and raspberries. Flavored tobacco. Water : The smoke is falling and the raspberry is getting stronger. In addition, pressed wood.
    • Taste
      Incredibly sweet and at the same time astringent. Cooked cherries and raspberries. It tingles all over the mouth. Grapefruit. Espresso starts immediately after swallowing. And an extinguished campfire smokes far in the background. The second sip has the smoke more and everywhere. Water : Creamy, supple and sweet. Subtle smoke.

      Forever. Bittersweet. Fruity. Slightly ashy. Terrific.

    Exactly my thing!
    Sweet red wine meets greasy Islay smoke.
    • Nose
      Fruity sweet grape juice with a really nice greasy smoke plume. hot! The alcohol tingles in the nose. Since right off the top right out of the nose.
    • Taste
      Extremely much power. First fruity and sweet, but then the smoke comes with a vengeance and occupies first the palate and then the entire mouth. At first still greasy but then really nice dirty ashes.
    • Finish
      Dry and ashy. Warming and powerful.

      Very sweet and slightly sour, to the point where it starts overpowering the smoky and meaty PC-notes, but luckily it's all still there. Thick fruit syrup, dates, figs, raisins and berries (sour red currants). Treaclish, cinnamon, cocoa, clove, smoked ham and bacon, some tobacco, nutty, leather and furniture polish.

      Thick creamy fruit sweetness of dates and raisins in some kind of cinnamon marinade combined with quite a hot pepperiness. Adding some water for better balance is recommended. Bitter citrus (eventually even lemony), dark chocolate, roasted nuts, some tobacco and leather.

      Very long: a short burst of red fruit syrup, switching to smoked chili's, ending on a drying and slightly dusty note of scorched oak wood.

    Powerful, the wine barrel is present but carries the distillate on delicate wine notes, a little astringency but what a personality!

    This one is really nice. Not the biggest fan of wine cask as the vast majority a sub par but every once in a while there is a great one and this is one of them. Very nice sweetness, nicely embedded in the peat. Love it!

    The barrel used here would be that of a Vosne Romanée (some sites even advertise a Romanée Conti: the cathedral of Burgundy wines). I have never had the pleasure of tasting a stain (the most exceptional of their bottles) and am therefore unable to detect its influences. However, it is certain that the influence is not that of most of the other great red wines (whether they are from Bordeaux, Côte du Rhône or northern Italy).

      The nose is particularly complex. It is impressive to see how far it evolves in glass. On the other hand, the alcohol is still a bit lively. A few years would perhaps have made it possible to better integrate all this wealth

      Lots of sweetness on the first palate. it promises to be great. But then, the alcohol rises in power, the tannin of the wood becomes more present and the boost literally explodes in the mouth. It's very good but too unbalanced for my taste

      The alcohol still rises in power and the finish becomes very very (too) warm. I am convinced that a few more years would have made this an extraordinary bottle

    Without words. Enjoyment at the premium level.

      It immediately opens up an unusual wine note, smoke is almost imperceptible behind the intense flavors. Apple cider vinegar, balsamic vinegar, overripe fruit. I love this smell and have not experienced it so intensively so far. Respect.

      Then raspberries, cherries and subtle smoke. Later, even the distillate with its typical aromas makes itself discreetly noticeable. The alcohol is noticeable.

      Yes, what the nose has hinted at actually occurs. Intersive wine flavors that are second to none. Creamy texture and fabulously integrated alcohol support the mouthfeel. Astringent, the dryness fills the entire mouth, seeking the counterpart to the sweet intense fruit flavors. Overwhelming.

      Raspberries, cherries, currants - the tongue almost wants to touch the fruits, so present are they.

      The long finish is characterized by the experience of fruitiness and the astringent elements so that the smoke remains in the background.
