Whisky Reviews for Linkwood 15-year-old GM
16 users have left a review for this whisky and scored it an average of 84.70 points
- In fact, it tasted much better to me than the 25 gordon macphail bottling. Malty fruity and light wood. Ginger finish
- The color : dark brown. Woody honey. Mead. Stay quite a long time after in palate.
Honey and wood. It seems a light mead.
Wood and honey.
- Very tasty, really tasty. 83 points.
Sweet first. Vanilla. There is also a bright fruit, a quite fresh apple. Malt is also clearly noticeable and the wood is also unmistakable. The result is a picture of fruit salad with many fresh and tangy fruits, over which some oak wood was grated. A bit of honey is also added discreetly. After the inclusion of the palate, the nose sways back and forth - sometimes sweet, sometimes kräutrig.
Fruity and sweet. Full of us juicy. At the forefront of the crisp apple is there. Shortly before swallowing and in the re-tasting something pipe tobacco is to taste. The mouthfeel is enormously soft. With the second sip more oak comes into play and slightly fermented flavors come to it.
Pretty long, sweet tobacco. Hardly warming.
- nice flavors variety but overall a bit smooth and meaningless, had promised me more of
Sherry in the foreground, not alcoholic but with a fresh, lemony touch, orange juice, walnut, white chocolate
sweet and tasty, well balanced, slightly tingling and dry
spicy, slightly bitter, quite long but restrained, at the end a light hint of grapes
- I was impressed by this one. A good whisky does not always have to be bottled at cask strength. This one will attract a broader range of whisky lovers, both beginners and connoisseurs.

Aldehydes are present on the nose as oil paint or acrylic paint, slightly solvent. Spicy with brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg and clove. Some dried grass is playing with soft oak, mocha and red apples.
Sweet honey, vanilla sugar, spices, orange, instant coffee, pear sherbet and baked apples with cinnamon. After water much more pear flavors.
Excellent spicy finish with cinnamon, bitter orange and all spice.
Strawberries, toffee, banana cake. Sherry. Rose water. A bit dusty. Something slightly burnt and a little sooty. A touch of sulphur, but is a plus rather than a minus.
Quite thin but nicely balanced. Light honey, raisins, sultanas, orange. Over ripe banana. Turkish delight. A little floral. Hints of sulphur/gunpowder.
Medium long with sherry, stewed fruits, and good toffee.
- Bottlers note:
The nose reveals pronounced Sherry aromas along with hints of ripe summer berries. Smooth and well balanced, the palate displays mixed spice flavours and a touch of charred oak.
