Whisky Reviews for William & Son 2007 SCC

1 users have left a review for this whisky and scored it an average of 85.50 points

  1. Archer scored this whisky 84 points Connoisseur

A young, wild smoker who clearly lacks a bit more maturity and experience. The approaches are there, but still too angular and edgy.
    • Nose
      85 85
Spicy peat smoke, hints of smoked lemon slices, some methylated spirits. Pine resin, seaweed, salt, machine oil. Pretty hearty, full on the twelve. The smoke is very intense and very well identifiable from some distance to the glass. Slightly malty, caramel, honey, toffee candy and coffee powder.
    • Taste
      84 84
Dry onset with lots of cold smoke. Lemon slices, machine oil (not just a shade), salt and pepper. Even at the beginning with tart herbs and "men's chocolate" (or Scho-ka-kola). High level of "aggression potential" that lacks fruity cushioning. Astringent.
    • Finish
      83 83
Medium long, very smoky and dry. Still feeling as if you were standing in the overheated engine room of a shrimp cutter in the high seas in the North Atlantic.
