Whisky Reviews for Bruichladdich 1970

3 users have left a review for this whisky and scored it an average of 90.50 points

  1. ColdAesthetics scored this whisky 92 points Connoisseur

Not super complex, but incredibly delicious for those with a sweet tooth and great strength for its%, great laddie.
    • Nose
Real dream, Hallelujah, not unbelievably complex, but what a great candy shop, tropical and yellow fruits in crystallized sugar form, thought directly of the handmade, expensive lollipops in the high-end shops in Paris, with passion fruit nectar, papaya, guava, dragon fruit, pomegranate light , Vanillin, marzipan, cumin
    • Taste
Explosion, already nice strength for 44%, comes safely from the barrel, net melon, passion fruit nectar, papaya, candied ginger, a hint of chalk, guava, light raisins, Solero ice cream, marzipan, nougat, caramel, cream, vanilla and milk chocolate, mango
    • Finish
Rock sugar, ginger, almonds, camphor, mango with peel, medium to long

  2. napets scored this whisky 90 points Expert Junior

      Fruit cocktail without end
Great nose, you can sniff for hours
    • Taste
      90 90
You shouldn't take too little, otherwise it will become very watery in the mouth.
Otherwise, the fruits also show up in the taste. Great, but not as great as the nose.
    • Finish
      85 85
Unfortunately a lot of oak and very little fruit. For that it is quite long. Still the weakest part of the three.

  3. Dram Dracula scored this whisky 93 points Connoisseur

    • Nose
      94 94
Clear and precise fruity notes, very fresh, good complexity. Thick and jammy. Loads of apricots, lychee, passionfruit, beehive, orange liqueur, ripe pears. Again, very fresh and aromatic.
    • Taste
      93 93
Good mouthfeel and a good viscosity. Nice continuation of the nose in that it has lots of fruits and honey. I thought there would be little explosions in the palate, given the reputation of this bottle, but they never came. Probably suffer a bit from the low ABV. Trust me, I am not complaining (that much), and this is good stuff.
    • Finish
      92 92
There is some oak and bitterness at the end, and I would prefer my finish to last just a tad longer.
