Whisky Reviews for Bruichladdich 1970

- Hard noted.
Very nice profile. Superb balanced and beautiful complexity. But hard to find a typicity.
Definitely very good, but will I remember that glass?
Super nice nose, although a little wooded for my taste.
White grape, apple, pear, peach. Lemon. Caramel, light salty wind. Tobacco, wood, a little wax and detergent.
In the mouth it's oily, on the engine, the dust, the old book.
Then the fruit comes out. Strawberry, apricot, peach, lemon. A beautiful explosion.
We have black pepper wrapped in cocoa, cranberry. Very pretty.
A hint of camphor, leather.
Chocolate and leather finish. Red fruit.
- Bruichladdich? Bruichladdich!
Kräuter, karamelisierte Orange, Bouillon, Grillhähnchen
Himbeere, Vanille, Kräuter, Milchschokolade, Rosenmarzipan, Litschi-Macarons
Mittlerer Abgang, erinnert mich an Traube-Nuss Schokolade
- This appears to be the same bottling as "I was there - but not that day" which is limited to 250 bottles, only this states on the label that it is one of 20. Attached is the link to the auction site where it sold recently.http://www.scotchwhiskyauctions.com/store/product/51_the-23rd-auction-runs-until-sunday-march-3/11061_230310-bruichladdich-valinch-i-was-there/
- "A 31 year old Bruichladdich distilled in 1970 and available, in general,
only at the distillery. The Valinch whiskies are the single casks that
they get visitors to hand bottle themselves when visiting and are thus
rather rare. This is one of the ones from the early days of the
distillery`s millenial rebirth and is rather good."
