Very strange bottle. It has long been one of the exceptions where I would say that the first shot was by far the best: as if a man had climbed into a bee hive; propolis itself, beeswax and the like. Other tastings were in the style of "once nothing much, once quite nice".

However, from about half the bottle, the whisky has finally settled down and it is starting to be a very pleasant affair. Incredibly thick in the mouth and fresh at the same time. I enjoy it, there can be no doubt about it. It is worse with the price versus performance ratio, although in 2018 I paid "just" a little over 200 euros for it in the auction.
    • Nose
Boiled potatoes (in their skins), marzipan, pear, citrus, yellow mirabelle, freshly cut wood and vanilla sugar.

After adding water: fruit jelly, dried banana and tangerine.
    • Taste
White wine (sauvignon), vanilla pudding, honeydew honey with beeswax and royal jelly, lemon peel, peach, white pepper, panna cotta, lemon glaze, unripe yellow mirabelle, fermented alcohol vinegar.

After adding water, the taste is slightly bitter. Condensed milk, green leaves, fondant, ginger cookies, marzipan and fresh herbal cough candies (Kaiser).
    • Finish
White wine, chalk, dandelion and kiwi.

After the addition of water, the finish is bitter-acidic. Grapefruit juice, citrus peel and mint.

A fresh aroma. Grain and wood, otherwise almost nothing. Purebred, ripe, slightly spicy.

    Tastier fruity.
Malt, a touch of lime, honey sweet, vanilla.
    A nice combination.

    Extremely long finish.

    Great.
    Extremely delicious!

    DL Tasting Notes

Delicate on the nose, with hints of honey, fresh barley and american cream soda. The palate shows golden syrup, with lightly toasted malt. A wonderfully sweet, medium-long finish, full of highland heather and gentle spices (CGL)
