    • Nose
      83 83
Mellow Mash potatoes, butter and kippery like texture. Minimal sweetness of sherry and pine tree bark. Reminds me of treacle but a very minute amount.
    • Taste
      80 80
Sweet, sour and oily. Thick remains of an darjeeling tea finish.
    • Finish
      79 79
Sour finish like apple vinegar or unripe grapes. Similar feeling obtained from cheap wine from tescos for a quid or two. Very very dry ending.

    • Nose
      85 85
Intense classic sherry finish dram. Dried fruit, marmalade, prune, honey and a bit minerality. Some sweet spice like ginger; sweet basil
    • Taste
      83 83
Less sweetness on the palate, a bit oaky and tannin like bitterness.
    • Finish
      83 83
      medium finish.

N- Beautiful colour. Round, fat and meaty, syrupy fresh wash with metallic sphere. White chocolate, classic sherry's compote of dried fruit, figs and raisins sandwiched between the above's prelude with spicy creaminess at the core. Whiff of orange developed alongside feinty nail removal. (89/22)

P- Profound but stiff oak driven, dry, fermented black bean and young banana lurking. Shy sweet phenol rise to the nose with bitterness tingling at tail. Feel a bit like chewing on a wet wood. (87/21)

F- Long, wood fire grilled bitter-gourd. Toast, whiff almonds, certainly oak-y and dried fruits. (87/21)

    B/B- 87/21

    Cereal- 3, Fruity- 1, Floral- 1, Peaty- 0, Feinty- 1, Sulphury- 1, Woody- 3, Winery- 3, Spicy- 2

I believe it doesn't age long enough in the palo cortado cask, as the sherry notes is very little and the whole whisky felt unbalance.
    • Nose

Sweet white sugar syrup, very light palo cortado in the background, hainan green tea, sugar butter & toast, some sour grapes, and really little milk coffee. While there are some palo cortado notes, but the bourbon cask influence is pretty strong here. The palo cortado influence is so weak that stand out nose from it is the sour grapes?

      After a sip, sauna wood?
    • Taste
      81 81
Sourish wine, sweet, abit mono dimensional, for a 46% whisky this is very peppery, and a tad too bitter at the end.
    • Finish
      79 79
Sour China wine finish with some chewy bitter oak. Peppery. The sour bitter end really a big turn off for me.

    • Nose
      86 86
Sweet syrup, ginger honey, vanilla, creamy and confectionary. Nutmeg, some Chinese tea, and very light sherry. More sherry surfaced after a tiny sip. Toffee. Sweet.
    • Taste
      84 84
Sweet arrival, winey, thick and oily on the mouth feel
    • Finish
      82 82
Rather dry, hints of nuttiness, no bitterness, which is a good thing. Finish is not long.
