- 65. Elijah Craig Barrel Proof Release # 13 WID: 107217
Abv. 63.5%, new American Oak
Nose: sweet spicy nose, caramel, for me as with many Bourbons juniper (but not so bad, such as the NAS Small Batch), brown sugar, elderberry syrup, beet syrup with vanilla, the nose is not wrong, but me too sweet And unfortunately, I always have this juniper, which I can not even off, the alcohol is well integrated for the cask strength
Taste: a nasty juniper bomb on the palate, associations with gin, lots of freshly grated ginger, vanilla candy, the alcohol is very spicy and impetuous, but it is also 63.5%, water makes it relatively flat and leaves the juniper stand out
Finish: relatively short for the many oak trees, the only thing left is sweet and juniper
Conclusion: So with straight bourbon I just do not get warm, especially Elijah Craig. Luckily, you do not have to like everything.
Vanilla pudding, baked apple, raspberry, yellow raisin, wood, peach and a little cake.
Apple, wood, cherry, vanilla and peach.
Cherry, dark chocolate, vanilla, wood and peach.
