It's a fruit bomb - not quite like a Caper 72 but very much for a Clynelish - absolutely no water needed despite its high strength - delicious!
    • Nose
      95 95
Honey galore, beeswax, minerals, ripe banana, pineapple, mango, apricots, peach, stones, hints of solvent, whiffs of vanilla, old books, spices, pepper - excellent!
    • Taste
      96 96
Punchy, very oily, creamy, super fruity, good sweetness, more tropical fruits, citrus fruits, even some green fruits, more honey and waxws, old books, spices, little herbal too - superb!
    • Finish
      94 94
Long, warm, zesty, spicy, grapefruits, more minerals and stones, fruity, sweet

Complex and wildly greedy, magnificent balance.
    • Nose
Magnificent nose with an explosion of fruit. Layers of honeys from each tropical fruit. Caramelized wax with a little solvent. Dusty spices.
    • Taste
Powerful and oily mouth, always on this explosion of fruits: mango, pineapple, lemons and blood oranges. Spicy wax. The alcohol brings a phenomenal aromatic intensity.
    • Finish
Very long finish on tropical fruits that turn into a slight leather smoke. Finely grassy and peaty, sometimes mineral and metallic.

phenomenal nose, great whisky. wish I had a bottle. (tasted from sample)

    • Nose
explosive mix of honeys, fruits, then waxiness, then lots of things. complex. old books, mushrooms and other earthy things all covered in so much honey. a bit peaty in the background
    • Taste
amazingly smooth and supple attack at full strength. brilliant. peat is more noticable than the nose. everything else comes through as well. much more on the honeys and waxy fruits than the earthiness but still deliciously complex.
    • Finish
big and fairly long, spiced apples and some peat smoke.

Delicious refill sherry. Complex and tasty at the same time. Excellent balance of distillate and oak.

    Colour: Old gold.
Nose: Waxy, floral, slightly smoky, fruity, mustardy and on
Taste: Rich, spicy, mustardy, complex, slightly tannic and on
grapes. With time, it becomes spicier and citric (grapefruit and lime). The
finish is medium to long, waxy and citric.
    General Impression: An excellent
Clynelish, rich, complex and with a very pleasant nose.

【First】: Wheat sense with a sense of transparency Sweetness is not apple kind Grape so far No frequency is felt Gentle acid Castella American Cherry 【Body】: Body American Cherry Spicy Daikonishi spreading with sweetness 【Finish】: After all, American cherry nose escape flavor aftertaste is pungent radish mustard Sufficient astringent with momentum of nose escape muscle hardly bothersome resonance of transparency and pungent amazing bottle

    • Nose
A lot of wax. Honey, heather. Leather. A little smoke. Hay and cut grass. Bitter orange. A little resinous and mineral too. A lot of flowers too.
    • Taste
The arrival on the palate is sweet and sweet. The alcohol is very melted. A spicy boom and its aftershocks, downright like an echo-delay type effect ... But I'm off topic! A nice salty butter too. Toffee. Jasmine tea. Fruity and stewed.
    • Finish
Super fade. Long hot and sweet finale.

  10. Bishlouk scored this whisky 91 points Connoisseur

It's big, it's good. No complaints.
    • Nose
      Typically Clynelish on dusty wax.
Tobacco, heather. A mixture of yellow fruit stewed. Apricot juice.
      Very melted, very complex.
    • Taste
      Alcohol ultra well integrated.
      It's sweet, round, complex.
Sweet wax, candied fruit. A pinch of white pepper. Some dried raisins.
      An impressive mouth.
    • Finish
Final sweet and long, it goes off slowly, like a flame of end of candle.

An old Clynelish in top form. Perfect ... and even better with a splash of water!
    • Nose
All that is expected of an old Clynelish is there. Beeswax galore, a basket of yellow and exotic fruits (pineapple, mirabelle, mango), citrus (orange), iodine, a pinch of white pepper, whole sugar, a very light touch of smoke. The tour de force combines elegance, balance and exuberance. Superb. The water brings out the peat (smoke) of this malt, as well as lemon.
    • Taste
Powerful, spicier than the nose (white pepper, ginger). The fruit is still there (orange, pineapple), developing a nice acidity behind, balanced by the wax. Wood, meanwhile, speaks at the end of the mouth with a well-controlled tannic bitterness. A drop of water should open it. Yes, it works well. The profile is pretty much the same, maybe a little more waxy and less spice, and the water soothes the burn that alcohol could leave.
    • Finish
Long, spicy, on bitter almonds and always this fruit / wax combo.

  12. ALouis scored this whisky 92 points Expert Senior

Superb Clynelish, on wax, light smoke, very fruity, honey and spices. A typical, excellent clyneslih and for which the cask has brought just what you need.

  13. Jean-Brice scored this whisky 91 points Expert Senior

A superb malt that earns a lot at aeration.
    • Nose
A lot of pineapple, wax, spices. Complex.
    • Taste
      Mouth in the continuity
    • Finish
