    SMWS notes:

"Built in 1962 and now owned by Bacardi Martini, this distillery takes its name from a fishing village on the banks the Deveron estuary. Distillery bottlings bare the name of the estuary rather than the distillery. Produced only 9 years after opening, this sample has had plenty of time to develop a deep amber hue from its refill hogshead home. First a warning: this “old man” may seem butch and bold at first, but adding water exposes his frailty. The Panel recommends drinking this dram neat. On the nose we savoured rich and fruity aromas of Rumtopf and digestive biscuits balanced with fresher hints of kiwi and Chinese lanterns. The flavour at first shouted “lychees, lychees and more lychees!” then developed with orange pith and red cola-cube sweets. A light oily mouthfeel (like eating black olives) guaranteed a long and satisfying finish. Sit back and enjoy every sip, but spare the water!"
